1) Identify all known agencies operating in the State of Alaska that are involved in the study of occupational trauma. 2) Collect information on the agency, their respective jurisdictions, the contact person, and the basic attributes of any collection process, database, or educational activity.
The Alaska Trauma Registry (ATR) collects information on the most seriously injured patients in Alaska and the treatment they have received. The information is used to evaluate the quality of trauma patient care, monitoring serious injury, injury prevention, and trauma system development.
Two data sources were queried for animal-related injuries: the Alaska Trauma Registry for nonfatal injuries requiring hospitalization and the Alaska Occupational Injury Surveillance System for fatal injuries. The Alaska Trauma Registry is a population-based trauma registry that collects information from all 24 acute-care hospitals in Alaska.
Trauma System in Alaska About the System. A trauma system is an organized multidisciplinary response to managing treatment of severely injured people and it spans the full spectrum of prevention and emergency care to recovery and rehabilitation.
